Went to Veronica’s Room again last night, and I can honestly say it was just as awesome as it was the first time, possibly even better.
It was so funny because I was sitting up with back with two of my friends (from the company) and the director. Garry has seen every show apart from one (he says it still scares him?!) but Lorraine and Sue hadn’t seen it before, so I was sitting there having to keep my mouth shut! The only thing I said to them, after every twist in the plot was “It gets worse!” I was a little surprised I didn’t manage to pick up any other little hidden “bits”, but I suppose there were only so many that Ira Levin could fit in the script!
After the show ended and the rest of the audience was leaving we were out in the foyer and Ursula (Veronica) and Jamie (Larry, who IS Veronica and Conrad’s son!) came downstairs.
I’ve usually only seen Jamie in pantomimes, so I was quite surprised at how good he was in a totally different genre, but another one of my friends said “Jamie’s still Jamie”, so I guess different people see different things. Ursula is incredible though. She’s one of the best actors I know, in every single show she’s done she’s been the best by a long shot, although in this show, Justin (Conrad) was pretty close!
It was hilarious because before the show I said to Lorraine, “You have to watch out for Ursula’s wig, it’s hilarious”, and as soon as the show started and she came on, Lorraine cracked up, because she just looked so different! I didn’t realise this the first time I saw it, I just thought she’d had a particularly unflattering costume, that made her look as though she’d gained a lot of weight, but she’d had padding on underneath, when she’s “pretending” to be Maureen the housekeeper! Garry told us that at interval and we were like “Oh! That’s why she looks fat!” She told us she’d heard us laughing at her, as had other audience members, who would have bene wondering why we were laughing at something that wasn’t supposed to be funny!?
As for the issue of who in the cast is the real psychopath, most people I talked to seem to have come to the conclusion that it is Veronica. That she’s manipulated everyone and sucked them into her disaster of a life. I was right about the “exorcism” thing though, she’s trying to kill Veronica, but because she can’t/won’t commit suicide, she has to threaten other girls into taking on “Veronica” and kill them instead.
Anyway, the show was really good, one of the best I’ve seen there, I’d jump at the chance to do a show like that, it sounds as if both of them had so much fun!
Woohoo! No more PSYC report or essay! I still have another one due in 2 weeks, a “death and dying” one for sociology…but that can wait *procrastinates*, heheh!
Sooo, has anyone noticed my subtle change!? Heheh, the sidebar –> is now a tiny bit (200 pixels!) shorter, since I’ve condensed it into sections to make it look less scruffy at first glance. At first I thought I’d like having all the sections on display straight away, but once I saw it in action I changed my mind and decided it looked silly. Anyway, it’s such a minor change, and it doesn’t effect the running of the site, it’s nothing really.
I’m going (back) to Veronica’s Room on Friday! Seems kind of lame, seeing the same play twice, but unless you’re another theatre person you probably won’t get it, I love that show…partly because my friends are in it, lol.
Man I miss acting, I haven’t done anything for nearly a month, and since from January-April I was either rehearsing, performing or waiting to hear about auditions that’s a long time!
Anyway. This is NOT going to turn into a drama rant, and it’s past midnight, so I’m going to go to bed…well actually I’m in bed…and I’m not going to go to sleep, I’ll probably go and fix the rest of this site with my new sidebar now. *feels nerdy*.
Yay! My PSYC report is under control now, as is my essay!
This means I’ve had a bit of time to update the site, thus the little “updated” blinkie things is the sidebar! I’ve condensed a lot of the “About Me” section into one page, which is now the ultimate in self-obsessed exhibitionism, but oh well. If you don’t like it, don’t look at it!
Just a question, I’ve noticed quite a lot of people in the “blog world” write in a language called Tagalog, which, I am ashamed to say, I didn’t know even existed until I stumbled upon it and thought my browser was playing up!?
Anyway, obviously I don’t speak Tagalog, but I’d still like to read these girls’ blogs, so does anybody know of a website that will translate passages of Tagalog to English? I’d be really grateful if somebody could point me in the direction of one…if it exists.
Also, just out of curiosity, what shows up in the red text? Is it Japanese, or meaningless symbols?
è¨ì²òaéÑÇÃñºëOòaÉzÉblyÇ?Ç?ÅB
Hmm, to me it looks like meaningless symbols, but perhaps that’s because it’s not supported by my browser…? If it shows up for anybody please let me know…somehow! Grr, it’s so annoying not being able to use WordPress on CJB, because it means I can’t have comments…

I HAVE to keep up this tradition of blogging every single day! LOL!
I’m uber stressed at the moment though, since I have an essay and a lab report both due on Thursday and I haven’t finished either. It’s 11:09pm on Saturday and I’m not asleep yet, so I’m feelin’ now might be a good time for some productive work!
Step 1: Shutting down Dreamweaver!
