3 things to blog about today…

My friend Merri has just started a blog/website. We’ve been friends (in real life) since we were three, lol, I think that’s rather impressive! Clicky!

The weirdest thing ever happened today! I arrived at uni and as I was walking to the lecture theatre I saw several (3 or 4) groups of Japanese (speaking) men in suits smoking cigarettes (which is banned “within 6 metres of any building on campus”). I didn’t think anything of it at first, since I figured they were probably just visiting lecturers or something, but when I got to the law building a group of three of them got into a lift…but they didn’t go anywhere, they just stood there with the doors opening and shutting!? It was sooo weird, I noticed what they were doing after about two minutes and stood there watching them like “Wtf!?” Then another friend of mine turned up and I told her about the men and she said “Have you seen them too!? They’e everywhere!” We still have no idea why they were there, but oh well, it was some Monday morning entertainment!

Thanks for all the comments about my gallery, quite a bit of it is up and running now, so you can go and look at random photos I have taken if you’re that curious…and you can comment on them too, heheh.

Oh! Something else too! I now have an Ask & Answer script on here, so you can go here and type in the little box! How exciting! I’ve been trying to figure out how to do this for ages, but I could never get it to work until last night, I think the problems I was having with it might have been connected to the problems I have having with my gallery, so luckily they’re sorted out.

Lol, thanks to everyone who commented on my last post, yes, I was rather annoyed at the time, it was just one of “those” days, I think we’ve probably all had them.

WordPress seems to be working ok now, apparently other people don’t have problems with it in I.E, so perhaps it was just me, and I use Firefox anyway so it doesn’t matter.

Coppermine still isn’t going, but the lovely Otto (my host) is helping me, so hopefully we’ll figure it out soon!

Hmm, what else to say…
Today was the 150th anniversary of Christchurch becoming a city. Yep. NZ is a new country, haha! There was a big party/concert in town, so Dad and I went and they had a birthday cake that was 150 metres long! It was good cake too, I have photos, which I’ll post when I put them onto my computer.

Hmm, I think my computer/internet/wordpress/coppermine hates me!

Recently I noticed that when I view my site on IE, most of my blogs have vanished and nothing posted earlier than my Thursday 13 is even there!? Huh!? I KNOW I haven’t accidentally deleted them, since they’re there on my admin panel and when I view the site in other browsers! If anyone else uses IE, what’s happening, can you not see them either, or it just something to do with me…?

With WordPress, at the moment, my comment feature seems to be in a pop-up window, which isn’t exactly what I want, but it’s ok, although when you go to look at the comments, it is for some strange reason the DATE that the comment was posted that is the link to the poster’s website! Err…why!? Lol! This isn’t a major problem, since at least thre is a link, it’s just weird!

Coppermine. I seem to have a love/hate relationship with this program. I first saw it on Mel’s gallery and thought it looked really cool, so I downloaded it and set it up, THEN, when I changed my layout to the one before this one, I stupidly decided the fastest way to do it would be to just delete everything I had uploaded to the entire site, and start over.

Bad idea.
I lost my whole gallery (which wasn’t a major crisis, because I have the photos backed up on my hard drive), and my configuration, which means I have to set everything up and again and reinstall it.
I’ve been trying to ages and I always get some stupid error message! Grr!
Does anyone know of another good php photo gallery thingee that I can use instead? I really like Coppermine, because it’s so customisable, but there’s only so long I’m prepared to spend messing around with it!
