Yup. I have discovered a new meme; Smiley Saturday. This was in my Google Reader this morning and it made me smile…and realise what I would be like if I were a cat! Heheh. Hopefully this will become a regular thing, if I remember to do it, and can keep finding things that are smiley enough!
Do you do regular memes (Thursday Thirteen, Friday 5 etc), or do you think they’re lame?
I had an audition this morning for the play I blogged about HERE. I don’t usually like to pass judgment on an audition before I find out whether I’ve been cast, but I think this one went ok. I’ll be surprised if I get in, but then again, I always am! It was kind of funny actually, because the character I auditioned for is on stage a lot, but only ever has two or three lines in a "block", which of course, doesn’t make for a great audition piece! Oh well, the director has worked with me before and knows me, I suppose he’ll just have to take everything into account and go from there. :/
In other news, Brooke, Jenny and I watched far too much TV today. I went to Brooke’s house after my audition to discover that the two of them had already watched several episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (which none of us were really fans of prior to this!) and has consumed a ridiculous amount of popcorn; a situation I proceeded to make worse by arriving with yet more popcorn! Then we ended up watching Bones, which the two of them love, but which I’d never seen. After having watched a few episodes, I can see why they like it, but I don’t think it’s a show I’d religiously set aside time to watch every week, however entertaining as a pig in wood-chipper may be!
People who have been following this blog for awhile, before it moved to this URL, might remember me writing about having been in a film near the middle/end of last year. I’m not going to go into any great depth about its plot, simply because it’s confusing (more a documentary than an entertainment film really), but part of it deals with the acceptance of gay and lesbian people in New Zealand. Although I’m not gay myself, I was still keen to get involved with this, since I’m game (or stupid) enough to try anything once, and go into things with a reasonably open mind. I’m really glad I did. Although on a few occasions I was probably one of only a few straight people on the set (if not THE only!), I never felt uncomfortable around anybody (in fact the producers went out of their way to avoid this – everybody was SO nice) and it was a really awesome experience, even if it did make me realise that film acting isn’t something I have any huge desire to pursue.
Tonight when I got home I discovered that a letter had come in the mail inviting me (and any hangers on) to the premiere of this film in May. It’s really weird, because when we were making it, it never occurred to me that the scenes we were doing over and over again would end up as a finished film! Lol! I’m also interested to see the bits I wasn’t in, since they were still to be filmed when I left. You can definitely expect a blog about this afterwards, and maybe photos/video clips, depending on what I’m allowed to post, due to copyright stuff.
EDIT: I just discovered the film’s trailer on Youtube, and although I’m not in this clip, I still figured it was worth posting, since I think it’s pretty cool, and I really like the song, which I THINK (and I may be wrong), was written especially for this.
Have you ever been in/part of anything like this? How did you get involved in it?
FRIEND: I’m sooo bored! I decided to be virtuous and start my PHIL essay but the reading is almost putting me to sleep…zzzz. What are you up to today? ME: People are guessing the songs on my blog! Quite a few are crossed out now! How’s the essay going? FRIEND: I gave up on the essay writing lol. Too boring. I wonder if they’ll guess them all…I’d be surprised! ME: Me too, some are really random. Haha! I just ate pecan pie. It was gross. FRIEND: What’s pecan? Is it a kind of nut? ME: Yup. Lol. Blergh. FRIEND: Sounds gross. I’ve strained my arm/hand muscles…from using my laptop too much…not cool. ME: Ow! that sounds painful! What were you doing? FRIEND: It’s not very sore, just aches a wee bit and makes me feel stupid lol. Just from trackpad and typing I think. I’m doing violin practise now for a change lol. ME: Lol won’t that make it worse!? FRIEND: Hopefully not! Lol one of the pieces I’m playing is on my phone as a ringtone. How was work? ME: Haha random! Work was boring. Have you decorated your phone yet? FRIEND: Nope :P I like it how it is now. Can you open yours with one hand? I’m quite bummed that I can’t. ME: I can! Hah! I win! FRIEND: :P Yeah you win. I can close it with one hand but that’s just not suave. ME: I could probably open mine WITH MY FEET! Beat THAT! FRIEND: *tries* I can do that! I’d try with my tongue but that might not end well. ME: You idiot! You actually tried?! I just made that up! LMFAO! I wish I’d seen you! FRIEND: Hehe don’t tell me you haven’t tried now tho! ME: I haven’t! *gloats* FRIEND: :P *feels silly* ME: *isn’t silly for once* LOL! What are you up to this week? FRIEND: Not a lot. Procrastinating mostly lol. You? ME: Just seeing how many other ppl I can convince to do ridiculous things. Lol. It’s my new hobby. FRIEND: Like opening their phones with their feet? I think you need a new hobby. Have you considered knitting? ME: Ok. You win. I’m bummed now…but I’m SO blogging this.
Please tell me we’re not the only ones who have weird conversations like this about RSI, pie and opening your cellphone with your feet!? We might FAIL, but at least we’re awesome! <3
What’s the most ridiculous conversation you and your friends have ever had?
