For most of this week, I have been being very entertained by two little girls at work. They’re both 5 years old, and the best of friends, but otherwise they could not be more different. One of them is quite bright (the kind of little girl who could read and write fluently before she started school), while the other one has a learning difficulty and is frequently told to sit/stand still and listen to the staff.
To my amusement, Little Girl 2 annoys the crap out of Little Girl 1. I don’t think she INTENDS to annoy her, she just loves her and wants to play with her/follow her around/poke her/hug her. All the time. Little Girl 1 usually arrives earlier than her, so when she sees LG2 and her mum walking up the pathway to the door, she sometimes runs and hides somewhere, telling me "Nooo! Don’t want Susie1!"
In some ways this is kind of sad, but on the other hand, it’s funny and cute, because after about 2 minutes she emerges (or LG2 finds her) and they happily play together. Most of the time!
Another reason these girls and their friendship amuses me is because in so many ways they remind me of myself and *a certain friend who shall remain nameless*! Heheh, I have a Mini Me! :P
Do you know any little kids who you think could be miniature versions of yourself or someone you know?
I discovered this on Youtube this afternoon and I think it’s incredible!
Oddly, my favourite song of the three is Love Changes Everything (I can has it at my wedding, srsly!?), but for some reason I’m not a fan of this rendition, possibly because it’s supposed to be sung by a man.
Unexpected Song definitely wins for me here, and NOT just because Marin Mazzie has the coolest name in the world ever!
Even if you don’t think you’ll like it, you should still watch it (Jenny I’m lookin’ at you, lmao!), just so you can leave me a comment and tell me what you thought of it. Please don’t let me be alone in my love of this video!!
Yesterday Brooke, Jenny and I went back to visit our old high school. We usually go back once a year or so, to visit old teachers we can still bear talking to (which is, surprisingly, most of them!), but the reason we went back this time wasn’t quite so much fun.
On Monday we found out the one of the teachers who taught Brooke and I in Year 8 died over the weekend. The funeral was held in the school chapel and since neither of us had class, and Brooke lives really close to the school, we decided to go to it, and go and visit in the morning to save us having to come back on two days.
We saw most of our old teachers, including one who was slightly peeved to see us because she’d already been distracted by other people and had tons of work to do! I told her she should hide in her office and pretend she’s not there. Evidently she’d already had this idea and taped some yellow card over the window in the door so people couldn’t see in. I decided to go up the door and peer through the tiny crack between the card and window frame and be like "Haha! It’s not working! You can see through the crack!" She was not impressed. :P
Also according to this teacher, someone started a rumour that I have cut my hair off. I have extremely long, curly hair and have had since I left school and these teachers knew me. Sometimes people ask me if I’ve ever thought about chopping it off, and I’ve always said no, I like it the way it is and have no plans to cut it off in the forseeable future!
As a result of this question, my friends and I were absolutely baffled. I’ve never told anyone about cutting my hair off, and we couldn’t think of anyone else in our year group who she might have confused me with! Mysterious! o.O
In terms of uni, I’ve now completely finished (aside from one assignment due in a couple of weeks) and I never have to see Angry Man again in my whole entire life! YAY!
