Merry Christmas! I hope you all have a lovely day…and no flats!
I know I don’t usually blog twice in one day, but that’s my character description (thanks SparkNotes) for Oliver Twist!
I had a phone call tonight from the director asking me whether I would accept the role of Mrs. Sowerberry. This wasn’t a part I auditioned for, wanted, or even expected to get, but after she explained that in our version the Sowerberries aren’t going to be nearly as old as they are in the novel and the Broadway show, because she’s cast a Mr. Sowerberry who looks as if he could be in his 30s, which sounds like a good match appearance-wise for me.
Hopefully. I was also rather (extremely!) excited when I want onto SparkNotes and discovered the title of the post by way of a chacracter briefing! I have NEVER been cast as anything like this before! I always seem to end up as nice, pretty young women (like Rose), talking animals (like the White Rabbit) or singing eggs (like Humpty Dumpty)! I have never been anybody mean! I suppose there’s a first time for everything! I was also very excited to discover the following clip on Youtube, with a young, pretty, yet very wicked, Mrs. Sowerberry.
Admittedly this isn’t the same script, and sadly I do not get to sing that song (EPIC sadly, it would be AWESOME!), but still, it gave me some insight into how a young woman ought to play this character! *nerd*
As promised, the photos of my father as Santa Claus on Sunday night. :)

I also just realised that the third photo checks off another one of my 101 in 1001! Having a photo with Santa Claus. I think. Is it cheating if the Santa Claus is also your father? Btw, the reason I look so "unfestive" in the photo is not because I am the Grinch and don’t like Christmas, but because I wasn’t actually intending to GO to this Christmas party, and only went along to take photos and video. :)
