Not a lot has been happening in the Exciting Life of Holly since I last blogged. Wednesday night was our Thinking Day event with all the Pippins, Brownies, Guides and Rangers from my district, and this year we ended up touring all the churches in the area, well, all except the Baptist one, since the woman who was supposed to be letting us in and talking to us about it ended up having to stay home with her sick children instead. Although this wasn’t the kind of event I would have thought of for Thinking Day, it was cool to do something with everybody, instead of just my really small group, and it was interesting to see the insides of places I’ve walked/driven past SO many times over the years, but have never actually been inside!
Yesterday was not so great. I ended up spending most of it in bed because I have the flu and wasn’t really “with it” enough to do anything other than try and sleep it off! I was none too impressed to be missing work, my first uni lecture of the semester and rehearsal at night, but oh well, I guess stuff like that happens!
As Brooke so eloquently put it; “The snot appears to have taken up all the room in my head usually allocated to more important things, like brain.”
Charming.
In other news, I saw a link to this quiz on a blog earlier today and decided that since I haven’t done a quiz or meme for awhile, I ought to do it. I’m pretty bad at these multi-choice things, since I never know which answer to tick to answer the whole “In this this type of situation I would do ‘X’” kind of question, but, according to this quiz, I was Catherine Morland. Interesting.
…read this book? Used the advice included in this book?
I blogged about it halfway through last year, when I was going to attempt to follow the suggestions in it (namely, never/seldom using shampoo), but halfway through my experiment I gave up, lol, I can’t remember why exactly, I guess I’m just TOO attached to my shampoo!
I’m asking about it again now because I know this blog has a lot more readers than it did in May last year, so the liklihood that SOMEBODY has heard of this/attempted this is reasonably high, right? *hopes*
If anybody HAS read this book, what did you think of the suggestion that you use cream as moisturisor? It sounds WEIRD to me, and as if it might cause my head to smell like off milk…? o.O
Yay! I think this blog is back to normal! Apologies to everyone who visited me in the last couple of days to discover that “database error” message. I’m not sure what caused it, but I seem to have fixed it with reasonable success by backing everything up onto my harddrive, deleting it all, and then uploading it again! Here’s hoping that’s the end of the problems!
Anyway! What have I been up to since Wednesday? A lot. On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday I worked at the uni, since it was O Week again! I spent the last 3 days with 5 other students and a bunch of advisors, doing campus tours for incoming first years. Pretty much exactly what I was doing the same time last year!
When we weren’t walking round and round the campus, we ended up playing on the Human Fly Wall and Bungy Run! OMG. SO much fun! The bungy run was slightly more awesome, just because it was a two person thing and could be made into a competition to see who could get further down the lane before they went flying backwards again! I couldn’t even get halfway! It was kind of depressing I don’t have any photos, sadly, but one of the other people took some and from what I saw on the camera they looked really good, so hopefully she emails them to me
Thursday night was also my first rehearsal for Oliver! It was a general chorus one, so it only lasted about an hour and a half, as a chance for us to learn a couple of the songs, which are a lot harder than they sound on the demo cd! Nothing that we won’t be able to figure out with some practise though.
Also in theatre news, a couple of other members and I have started a blog for the company we’re doing Oliver with. We’ve written a couple of entries already and it’s getting off to a good start. As for linking to it on here, I’m still in two minds about thats. I can’t decide whether I want my “online self” and my “offline self” to merge into one, which they inevitably will if I do this.. I just want to wait for awhile to see how personal (and identifying) the posts on that blog are.
What do you think? Would you LIKE to read this blog?
If you’ve been looking at my Flickr stream lately, you might notice there’s a bit of a gap in my Project 365 photos. This is because my camera batteries died, and in the time it took me to replace them, I took the daily photos with my cellphone. Ideally, I would have emailed these to my computer by now and everything would be fine, but for some stupid reason, my phone doesn’t want to send them. Grr. I’m hoping this issue will resolve itself eventually, but until then, I’ve gone ahead and uploaded the rest anyway, intending to go back and fill the missing ones in when I finally get them! Most recent at the bottom…
