Just a random little thing I wanted to share today ‘cos it makes me smile. People who read yesterday’s post: This is what I was referring to when I said one of the photos I posted had a cool story behind it.

These are two photos of my friend Merrilyn and I, taken fourteen years apart, on the same garden bench. The top one was taken when we were about 10, and the bottom one was taken on Saturday, when her family was here for dad’s birthday.

It makes me laugh that I still have bare feet, but that she and I have pretty much swapped everything else, like where we’re sitting, and which of us is wearing jeans/a dress. This was totally not deliberate, but I realised on Saturday when she was here that I had this old photo of us, and that we needed to take an "updated version"! It amuses me how much the bench has aged in this time! What you can’t see in the new photo is the giant hole in one of the planks right underneath my butt! I sat down veeeeeeery carefully!

Kind of reminded me of the website Dear Photograph, although it’s not quite the same because the original photo isn’t in our new picture.

Perhaps not quite so miscellaneous as just plain awesome, but I’m curious to see if anyone else reading this has any similar photos! :)
